Community House at Saint Thomas

Community House at St. Thomas, Corp. provides affordable, stable housing for adults with significant physical disabilites and of very low income. We provide social services that compliment, support and foster the resident's independence and quality of life.

Licensed by the Department of Community Affairs, Community House is a collaboration of Catholic Charities, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Middlesex County Department of Human Services, the New Jersey Office on Disability Services and numerous volunteers. Our staff consists of a full time case manager and an executive director. Community House is non-profit and non-denominational.

The home can accommodate eight mentally competent, self directed adults who would otherwise be homeless or housed in costly long term care facilities. Residents pay rent, calculated in accordance with HUD eligibility criteria for very low income. Community House is barrier-free, fully wheelchair accessible and an integral part of a beautiful suburban community.

The residents of Community House are a family. Our home fosters independence, allowing our residents to integrate into the greater community while living in the least restrictive, supportive environment.
